DESCRIPTION :

Bilwa, also known as Bael or Aegle marmelos, is a sacred tree in Hinduism. Its leaves, fruits, and roots are used in various traditional practices and Ayurvedic medicine. The fruit has a hard shell and is commonly used to make a beverage called "bael sherbet." The tree is valued for its religious significance and medicinal properties.

UNRIPE BAEL FRUIT

RASA : katu, tikta, kshaya

GUNA : snigdha, ushna, tikshna

VIRYA : ushna

EFFECT ON TRIDOSHA : balances vata & kapha

RIPE BAEL FRUIT

ANURASA : madhura

GUNA : guru

EFFECT ON TRIDOSHA : imbalances tridosha especially vata.
