What is Adenoids? How it can be treated in Ayurveda?
Adenoids are a mass of lymphatic tissue located at the back of the nasal cavity. They are part of the immune system and help to protect the body from infection by trapping harmful pathogens that enter through the nose. However, when adenoids become swollen or enlarged, often due to infection or allergies, they can cause breathing difficulties, snoring, sleep apnea, and recurrent ear or sinus infections.
In Ayurveda, the condition of enlarged adenoids can be attributed to an imbalance of the Kapha dosha, which is associated with mucus and bodily fluids. Ayurvedic treatments aim to balance the doshas, reduce inflammation, and enhance immunity.
