What is Diabetes? How it can be Managed by Ayurveda

What is Diabetes?

Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by high blood sugar levels. It occurs when the body either doesn't produce enough insulin (a hormone that regulates blood sugar) or can't effectively use the insulin it produces. There are three main types of diabetes:
1. Type 1 Diabetes: An autoimmune condition where the body attacks insulin-producing cells in the pancreas.
2. Type 2 Diabetes: A condition where the body becomes resistant to insulin or the pancreas doesn't produce enough insulin.
3. Gestational Diabetes: Diabetes that develops during pregnancy and usually goes away after the baby is born.
